Delete Your Account
Last updated: October 6, 2026
You can delete your MyPlacard account at any time. There are two ways to do it, and you don't need the app installed to use the second one.
Option 1: Delete it in the app
- Riders: in the iPhone rider app, tap the ... menu and choose Delete account; in the web rider app, open Your journeys and choose Delete my account.
- Drivers: open the driver app, go to Settings, and choose Delete my account.
This takes effect immediately and can't be undone.
Option 2: Ask us to delete it
If you can't open the app, or you're an Operator staff member (the in-app options don't cover console accounts), email legal@my-placard.com from the email address on the account, with the subject “Account deletion request”, and include:
- Your full name
- The email address and phone number on the account
- Whether it's a Rider, Driver, or Operator account, and the Operator's name if you know it
To protect your account, we may ask you to confirm that you control it before we delete anything. We honor verified requests consistent with applicable law.
What is deleted
Your name, email address, phone number, any saved payment details, and (for drivers) your photo and license numbers are removed from your account, and your login is revoked, so you can no longer sign in.
If a ride was booked for you
If someone booked a ride for you and you would like your name and phone number removed, or you want the texts to stop, reply STOP to any text from us, or email us (see the address in Option 2). On a canceled ride your details are removed automatically after 90 days. On a completed trip they are kept as part of the trip record, as described below.
What we keep, and for how long
Trips you've already completed are not deleted with your account. Passenger transportation is commonly subject to trip record-keeping expectations, so when a trip is completed we save a copy of it exactly as it was that day. After you delete your account:
- The saved copy of each trip keeps the personal details on it (names, the rider's phone number (the passenger's, if someone else booked the ride), the driver's license and permit identifiers, vehicle and operating-company details, and the pickup and drop-off addresses) for 5 years after the trip, and then those details are removed from the record.
- After that, the trip's route, fare, fee, tax, tip, and refund figures stay on file, no longer linked to your name, for up to 7 years, matching standard accounting and tax record-keeping practice.
